He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father James Ralph; his wife Ann Marie Smith of District Heights, Maryland; his children, Jerry Newsome, Jr. of District Heights, Lionel Newsome of District Heights, Robert Durham of Montgomery County, Michell Durham of Montgomery County and Tammy Hart of Bowie, Maryland; his grandchildren, Jerry, III and Riann White; his siblings, James Newsome of Suffolk, Eley Newsome (Senthia Claudine) of Pendleton, Ralph Gregory Newsome (Mayra) of Centerville, Virginia and Sandra Laurene Young (Watt) of Oxon Hill, Maryland; his siblings-in-law, Lavern Thomas, Florence Marshall (Michael), Gail Sneed (Tony), Russell and Ronald Smith; his uncle Jonathan Peebles (Christine) of Chillum, Maryland; his aunt Louise Taylor of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and his friends, Sharon Williams of Greenville, Willie Ray Taylor of Clarksville and Ed Johnson of Pendleton. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
