He is survived by: his wife Sandra Elizabeth; his children, Geneva Elizabeth Roberson (Dennis) of Washington, NC and Carlton Leo Elks (Lisa Smith Elks) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Singell, Rosa Caroline Roberson and Logan Allie Roberson; his stepgrandson Martin Allen Smith; and his siblings, Peggy Jones of Greenville and Bobby Elks (Margaret) of Greensboro.
