He is survived by: his son Jay Lee Cox, III of Garner, NC; his parents, Jay Lee Cox, Sr. (Tina) of Greenville and Anita Williams of Bridgeton; his grandparents, Robert Lee Cox, Sr. of Greenville, Linda Charlotte Hartley of Trent Woods and Robert Williams (Trish) of Washington; and his siblings, Christina Cox, Deanna Matthews, Dale Cox, Toby Strickland, Gracie Owens and Nicholas Young. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
