It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Aaron Kleinert (Greenville, North Carolina), born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, who passed away on June 16, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Leon and Nellie Gay Malpass Kleinert; his siblings, John, Dan Kleinert, Gertie K. Dawson and Betty K. Parks; and his daughter-in-law Lynn Scarborough.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Watson Kleinert; his children, Teresa K. Kupecki (Mike) of Greenville, Jan K. Bieneck (Bjorn) of Fredericksburg, VA, Lorri K. Andrade of Greenville and James "Jim" Kleinert, Jr. of Nags Head; his sister Joyce K. Anderson of Wilson; his grandchildren, Chelle Poteat (Chris), Ellen Kupecki, Emily Kupecki, Anna Shaw (Dustin), Nick Bieneck and Philip Bieneck; and his great grandchildren, Cole, Noah Poteat, Levin Miller, Miles and Maybelle Shaw. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
