He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Melissa Taft Atkinson and Ike Monk, Sr.; his siblings, Arlene Taft Teel, Ruby Lee Baker, Ike Monk, Jr., Rosa Monk Cox and Thaddeus Gray Baker (Marval); his children, Linda "Faye" Cutchins, Joseph Thigpen, Shelia Wooten Leggette (Alfonso), Kimberley Shamble (Dallas), Chris Coggins, Sr. (LaChele), Tiffany Williams Dowell (Carlos), Tracey Peterson, Isaac Peterson and Melanie Taft (James); his grandchildren, Kalif Dowell, Charity Williams, Kendrick Anderson, Kearra Staton, Chris Coggins, Jr., Alexis Shamble, Jaylyn Leggette, Ta'Nya Peterson, Tray, Glanese Joyner and Amar Joyner; and his close friend Gloria Williams. He was also cherished by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, dear cousins, devoted friends.
