She was predeceased by: her husbands, James Gurganus and Raymond Lee; her son Walter Gurganus; her parents, George McRoy and Icybelle McRoy; and her siblings, Claudell, Jay, Jimmy, Johney McRoy and Ernestine Peaden.

She is survived by: her sisters, Evelyn Parker and Barbara Strickland; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy McRoy and Teresa McRoy; her grandchildren, Cameron Gurganus and Lauren Gurganus; and her nieces and nephews, Billy Peaden, Rick Cruz, Jerry McRoy, Darrell McRoy, Ann McRoy West, Erin Cruz Pierce, Debbie Cruz and Jenny McRoy Heath.
