He was predeceased by: his wife Geneva Cox Powers; and his siblings, Doris Harris, Avon Ciufolo, Frank, Charlie, Grady and Herman Powers.
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Linda Lee (Raymond) of Forest City, NC, Jennifer Blevins (Thomas) of Statesville and Deborah Braswell (Autry) of Carrsville, VA; and his nephew Bobby Mason (Phyllis) of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren.
