It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Whittington Lanford (Greenville, North Carolina), born in Greensboro, North Carolina, who passed away on November 20, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll E. Lanford and Louise D. Whittington Lanford; his stepfather Richard Hutchinson; and his half-brothers, Carroll, Joseph and Donald Lanford.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Stuetz Lanford; his sons, Laurence P. Howard (Candice) of Raleigh, NC and Thomas Howard (Emilie) of Atlanta, GA; his grandsons, Isaiah and Jacob Howard of Raleigh, NC; his sisters-in-law, Susan Stuetz Saunders (Robert Saunders) and Carol Stuetz Griemel (Donald); his nieces and nephews, Scott Saunders, Michael Johnson, David Lanford, Karl Lanford, Heather Henning, Alice Anderson and Carolinda Boesen; and his pet Molly.
