He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carrie Kelly Thomas; his sons, Brian Garfield Thomas of Durham and Jason Everette Thomas (Akesha) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Davidson Reed Thomas and Makenzie Rae Thomas; and his siblings, David Thomas, Joshua Thomas (Roxanne) of Elgin, Jimmy Thomas (Dwaine) of Columbia, Bruce Thomas (Charlene) of Lithonia, Georgia, Mary T. Randolph (Betty) of Decatur, Evelyn T. Bounds (Donald) of Calhoun Falls, Ruth T. Tolbert (Dewitt) of Lexington, Pearl T. Lewis of Grovetown, Willa T. Boddie of Ellenwood, Carol A. Thomas of Conyers, Georia and Linda Thomas of Columbia. He was also cherished by nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
In lieu of sending floral arrangements, the family is requesting memorials be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the American Diabetes Association in honor of Garfield Thomas.
