She was predeceased by: her significant other Norman Warren Alligood; her parents, Fenner Briley and Jennie Whitehurst Briley; and her siblings, David Briley, Susie Pilkington, Ethel West, Marylene Moore and Virginia Baker Sasser.
She is survived by: her children, John Alligood (Lynn) of Suffolk, VA, Jenny Harvey of Newport News, VA and Cathy Ellis (Mike) of Carrollton, VA; her sister Jenny Tripp of Cary; her niece Donna Tripp Adams (Jay); and her nephew Reid Tripp, Jr. (Angela). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
