He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolphus Ward of Pitt County and Lynda Leggett Ward of Pitt County; his former wife Hazel Stancil Ward; and his siblings, A. B. Ward, Jr., Allen Ward, Clara Chauncey and Grace Weatherington.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Odom Overton Ward of Rocky Mount; and his stepchildren, Jamie Overton (Kim) of Wilmington and Lori Overton of Wilmington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

ROCKY MOUNT – Edwin Gorham "Red" Ward, age 93, went to his Heavenly Home on Friday, September 25, 2020, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease at Brekenridge Retirement Center in Rocky Mount, NC.
