Edith Ashley Overton Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 11, 2021, at the age of 86, Edith Ashley Overton (Greenville, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ashley and Myrtle Charity Ashley; and her husband James Alton Overton. She is survived by: her grandson Jesus; her daughters, Bridget O. Grassick (Daryl) of Raleigh and Inga O. Nichols (John) of Winterville; her grandson John Tyler Nichols (Lauren) of Winterville; and her siblings, Elton Ashley (Jennie) of Virginia, Herman Ashley (Carolyn) of North Carolina and Thelma Lane of Virginia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Overton was born to the late John and Myrtle Charity Ashley and attended Perquimans High School.
