He was predeceased by: his wife Natalie Zencak Cox; his parents, Grover Glenn and Juanita Smith Cox; his sister Terry Ruth Cox; his granddaughter Stephanie Beaulieu; and his son-in-law Bill Beaulieu.
He is survived by: his children, Helen Mary Uebler (Bob) of Pitt County, Annie Beaulieu of Pitt County, Rosie Jackson (Bobby) of Pitt County, Patsy Gouras (Bobby) of Pitt County, Denise Cox of Pitt County, Mary Jo Driscoll (Scott) of Goldsboro, Edgar Lee Cox, Jr. of Dover, DE, Denis Cox of Lake City, CO, Owen Cox (Suzette) of Winterville and Liam Cox (Janette) of Greenville; and his siblings, Phillip Ray Cox of South Carolina, Janet Staton (Billy) of Greenville and Gloria Oakley of Greenville. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
