Christine Hart Corey Obituary
Christine Hart Corey was born on September 9, 1953, in Ayden, North Carolina. She was the seventh child and youngest daughter born to the union of the late Mr. Star Hart, Jr. and Mrs. Adell Artis Hart. She left this earthly life on February 7, 2025, surrounded by family at the home.
Tine, as she was called by her beloved family, graduated from Ayden Grifton High School in 1973. She moved to Kinston in 1999 and became a member of Jumping Run Church in LaGrange, NC. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching soap operas, dancing, playing Candy Crush, and other mobile games with her Facebook friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Johnny Lee Hart.
She will be cherished for generations to come by her son, Jamie Lewis Corey, Jr. (Bianca), of Kinston, NC. Her daughter, Christine Carrera (Daniel), of the home. Six grandchildren, Jaheim Corey, Zykeema Corey, Te'J Rodriguez, Alejandro Carrera, Victoria Carrera, and Amare Corey. Three brothers, William Louis Hart (Linda) and Leroy Hart, both of Ayden, NC; Willie Ray Hart, Sr. (Carmilla), of Kinston, NC. Four sisters, Esther Mae Mewborn, of Washington, DC; Helen Gardner-Riley (Frederick), of Oxon Hill, MD; Geraldine Hooker, of Ayden, NC; Mamie Hart, of Greenville, NC. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday February 15, 2025 2:00pm at Don Brown Funeral Home. Address: 497 Second Street, Ayden, NC 28513 Burial will follow in Artis Family Cemetery.
Viewing will be held Friday February 14, 2025 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the funeral home.
