He is survived by: his wife Jean McLawhorn Averette; his children, Carla Averette Wainwright (Johnny) of Farmville and Vance Averette of Farmville; his grandchildren, Jay Wainwright of Farmville, Dylan Wainwright of Garner, Madison Averette of Raleigh, Annabelle Averette of Boone and Sawyer Averette of Farmville; his great grandchild Jackson Wainwright of Farmville; his sister Ann Averette Taylor of Greenville; his nephews, David Taylor and Steven Taylor; and his niece Wanda Williams.
