He is survived by: his significant other Virginia Ann Hawkins Payton; his son Travis Payton; his brothers, Ray Payton of Greenville, NC, Jasper Payton of Greenville, NC, Larry Best (Sharon) of Greenville, NC, Walter Payton (Pauline) of Conetoe, NC, David Payton Winterville (Para) and Ronnie Payton (Sudie); and his sisters-in-law, Sarah Payton of Greenville, NC, Shirley Payton of Greenville, NC, Evelyn Payton of Greenville, NC, Vivian Bruce of Greenville, NC, Dixie Payton of Clinton, NC, Jackie Hawkins of Chocowinity, NC and Louise Hawkins of Danbury, CT.. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, relatives and friends.
