He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruce Otto Baker and Elizabeth Lillian Hyde; and his son Michael Howard (Hope McMillan) of Decatur, GA. He is survived by: his mother-in-law Virginia Byers King (Ginger) of Greenville; his children, Bruce Jr. (Joanne Durham) of Chocowinity, Jesse Moye of Greenville, Timothy Byers (Laura Nichols) of Wake Forest and Virginia Baker (Stan Kossol) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Melanie, Kristin, Margaret, Sarah, Stephen, Mary, Jason, Bryan, Matthew, Gini and Anna; his great grandchildren, Zoey, Gabby, Owen, Evan, Ellie, Millie, Michael, Nora, Carter, Sophie and Tyler; his brother Fred B. Baker (Carolyn Boyd) of Danville; his daughter-in-law Wendy Baker of Winterville; his sister-in-law Jean Ann Sears of Greenville; his close friend Howard King, Jr. (Carolyn) of Fayetteville; and his sister-in-law Mattie Moye Bridgers (Charles) of Greenville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (2700 E 4th St, Greenville, NC 27858). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
