He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin "Sarge" and Hazel Coward Smith; and his brother Jimmy Smith. He is survived by: his wife Judy Whichard Smith; his grandchildren, Jordan and Elise; his uncles, Ed Smith and Gerald; and his aunt Mary Forrest.
