He was predeceased by: his parents, James Phelps and Effie Phelps; his former wife Rachel Phelps; his wife Violet Louise Phelps; and his siblings, Elmo Phelps, Hubert Phelps, James Phelps, Rosemond Price and Adell Brickhouse.

He is survived by: his daughter Beverly White of Oak Hill; his grandchildren, Paige White and Scott White; and his great grandchildren, Jordan and Merritt.
