Reid of Portsmouth, VA; his children, Delishia Moore (Algernon) of Elizabeth City, NC, Terrance Reid (Nanette) of Greenville, NC, Alvin Rodney Reid, Jr. of Greenville, NC and Courtney Renee'Reid of Chesapeake, VA; his siblings, Isaac Reid of Norfolk, VA, Tony Reid (Jackie) of Elizabeth City, NC, Donald Reid (Felicia) of Elizabeth City, NC, Denise Mitchell (Charlie) of Elizabeth City, NC, Sandra White of Elizabeth City, NC and Janie Cofield (Bernard) of Elizabeth City, NC; and his in-laws, Regina Wynn (Percy), Gloria McMillan (Herbert), Stewart Hines (Shirley), Cynthia Blackwell (Julius), Eudell Williams (Greg) and Angela Doyle. He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
