She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas and Annie Maude Perdue Sparks; her husband Richard Burrus Cates; her sister Doris Sparks Marion; and her brother-in-law William Norman Marion.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Michael (Lori), William Richard (Cindy) and Ronald Brian (Susana); and her grandchildren, Cassey (Christopher), Michael, Katie (Michael), Lilly, John (Alanna), Matthew (Hanna), Grace, Sophie, Cayden, Charley and McKenna.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the George Brothers Funeral Service (803 Greenhaven Dr, Greensboro, NC 27406).
In honor of Wanda's cherished sister, Doris Sparks Marion, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
