He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold "Hank" Walton Meyer and Elizabeth Nancy Meyer (Daley); and his sister Barbara Carroll. He is survived by: his daughters, Erica Meyer-Ullring of Wilmington, NC and Stephanie Meyer of Lincolnton, NC.; his significant other Mazzie Delancey; his grandsons, Tommy and Cooper Ullring; his son-in-law Tom Ullring; his sister Penny Padgett; and his stepsiblings, Mike Scharfman and Pam Schaefer. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, two nieces, one nephew, three grandnieces and two grandnephews.
