It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Chiles Sr. of Greensboro, North Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Sloan Chiles and Margaret Harris. He is survived by: his sons, Robert S. Chiles, Jr. and Reginald Chiles; his grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Reginald A. Chiles and Harper G. Chiles; his great grandchild Ryan A. Chiles; and his sister Dorothy Caldwell. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
The lying in state was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Matthews United Methodist Church (600 E Florida St, Greensboro, NC 27406). Visitation was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Centenary United Methodist Church (2300 W Friendly Ave, Greensboro, NC 27403). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
