She was predeceased by: her parents, James Kellam and Essie Kellam; and her siblings, James Kellam, Jr., Billy Kellam, Bessie Oakley, Lilly Faircloth, Gracie Oliver and Gladys Trotter.
She is survived by: her sister Lorene Behling; and her nephew Albert Behling. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Ebenezer Baptist Church (2700 W Vandalia Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left to Ebenezer Baptist Church in honor of Ms. Welchel.
