She was predeceased by: her parents, Ambrose L. Dowell and Lessie Deatherage Dowell; her son Louis; and her siblings, Byron, Leo, Charles, Harry, Roscoe, Jack, Patricia Terrell, Betty Dowell Neese, Thelma Dowell and Edith Dowell Joyce.
She is survived by: her husband Al Adams Jr. of Southern Pines; her grandchild Victoriana Adams (James Winkeler); her great grandchildren, Nikki Adams, Milo Adams-Winkeler and Emry Adams-Winkeler; and her siblings, Carolyne Churchill of Mt. Airy, Opal Marion of Winston Salem and Jimmy Dowell of Mt. Airy. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
