He was predeceased by: his parents, John B Mapp Sr. and Ollie Mae Leath Harris; and his brother James Mapp. He is survived by: his wife Novella Mapp; his children, John Mapp Jr. (Mrs Mapp) of Charlotte, NC and Wanda Walker (Kenny) of Burlington, NC; his stepson DeAundra Pinnix of Greensboro, NC; and his siblings, Brenda Smith (Arthur) of Whitsett, NC, Benny Mapp (Janene) of Boise, ID, Dwight, Bernard Harris (Pam) of Greensboro, NC, Charles Mapp of Graham, NC and Shirley M Williams.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Blackwell Funeral Home (1292 Rauhut St, Burlington, NC 27217). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Elon First Baptist Church (113 Lynn St, Elon, NC 27244). Due to COVID-19 FACE MASK are advised for Services.
