It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Alee Wimbush of Greensboro, North Carolina, who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rufus Wimbush and Nannie Lou Wimbush; his wife Westover Norman Wimbush; his siblings, Edna Barbour, Garland Wimbush, Eugene Wimbush, Raymond Wimbush, James LeRoy Wimbush, Vincent Wimbush and Doug Wimbush; and his great grandchild NaJada Joyce.
He is survived by: his children, Sylvester Wimbush (Phyllis), Clarkie Woods (Richard), Pamela Howard, Judith Redd (Ronald), Kim Wimbush and Michelle Harris (Willard). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service (3665 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at the Carver Memorial Gardens (2256 Carver Rd, Martinsville, VA 24112).
