He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Muriel Widmer and Henry Widmer; his wife Ruth Ann Widmer; his sister Christine Kendall; his children, Teresa Widmer, Kathy Lynn (Cori Henson) and Hank Widmer (Erika Ratcliff); and his grandchildren, Kennedy Byrd and Carter Lynn.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church (310 S Tremont Dr, Greensboro, NC 27403). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials in Hank's honor may be made to Ebenezer Lutheran Church for the benefit of the Greensboro Urban Ministry, a cause close to his heart.
