He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred; his parents, William May and Mary May; his siblings, Vance, Jake, Marvin, John, Mozelle East, Ruth Swaney and Marie May; his daughter-in-law Linda May; and his great grandchild Taylor Foster.
He is survived by: his children, Frances Moore (Glen), Ronald May (Becky), Donald May, Phil "Skip" May (Carolyn) and Hal May (Iris). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the George Brothers Funeral Service (803 Greenhaven Dr, Greensboro, NC 27406). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Lakeview Memorial Park (3600 N O. Henry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405).
