He was predeceased by: his sisters, Mary Elizabeth Mielke Parrish (John Parrish) and Deborah Mae Mielke. He is survived by: his wife Sue Mielke; his children, Matthew David Mielke of Durham and Laura Lynn Mielke (R. Scott Hanrath) of Lawrence, KS; his grandchildren, Henry Hanrath, Ellen Hanrath and Levi Mielke; his sister Martha Jean Mielke Jarvis (Bill Jarvis) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his sisters-in-law, Bettie Galliher (late Joseph Galliher) of Bristol, VA, Mary Jo Craft (Gene Craft) of Abingdon, VA and Patsi Trollinger (Richard Trollinger) of Danville, KY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Fellowship Hall. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Lutheran (115 E King St, Boone, NC 28607).
