Chesley Smith Jr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Chesley Smith Jr. (Greensboro, North Carolina), who passed away on December 2, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Chesley Smith, Sr. and Ophelia W. Smith; and his sisters, Joyce Howard and Carrie DeLon. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Vilines Smith; his children, Nicole Smith of Greensboro and Bernard Smith (Sharon) of Fort Myers, Florida; his grandchildren, Paige McDougle of Greensboro, Steffon and Jasmine Smith of Charlotte; his great grandchildren, Laila Daye and Cali Cooper of Greensboro; and his sister Corean Ruffin of Medford. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the St. James Baptist Church (536 W Florida St, Greensboro, NC 27406). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
