As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Billy may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Childress and Beulah Childress. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Strock Childress; his daughters, Kim Hanner and Sherrie Kruse; and his close friend Vicente Hernandes. He is also survived by grandchildren, and four adored great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gospel Baptist Church (5945 N Church St, Greensboro, NC 27455). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
