She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Samuel Young and Mattie Philpott Young; her husband William Jenkins; her son William Anthony Jenkins; her siblings, William Pressley Young (Elizabeth), Robert Randolph Young (Mary), Samuel Joseph Young (Margaret), Ella Y. Thorpe (Benny), Edith Y. Brooks (Eugene) and Lillian Y. Holland (John); her niece Linda Young Reddick (Lee); and her nephew Michael Young.
She is survived by: her children, Toney Y. Gregory (Anne) and Phylicia Jenkins of California; her grandchildren, Cheyenne Jenkins Manis (Andy) of Phoenix, Arizona, Michael B. Gregory of Hanahan and Machon B. Gregory (Renee) of Silver Spring; her great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Solomon, Lillian and Isabell Gregory of Silver Spring, Maryland; and her daughter-in-law Nadia Poon-Woo (Troy). She is also survived by nieces and nephews, as well as other family, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the United Institutional Baptist Church (802 E Market St, Greensboro, NC 27401). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
