He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Cleveland and Ethel Walker Shepherd; his siblings, Robert Blaine Shepherd, James Wilburn Shepherd, Walter Leonard Shepherd, Ralph Franklin Shepherd, Sallie Edith Shepherd Howard, Myrtle Luna Shepherd Pugh and Betty Ruth Shepherd Williams; and his son Ryland Boyd Shepherd.
He is survived by: his former wife Betty Ann Howell of West Jefferson, NC; his son Brodrick Shepherd (Tamara) of Statesville, NC; and his grandchildren, Montra May, Bethany Shepherd and Andrew Shepherd. He is also survived by three step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
