He was predeceased by: his former wife Lillie B. Salter; and his son Sonny Salter. He is survived by: his wife Della W. Salter; his daughter Sheila Johnson (Fred); his grandchildren, Sonny Wayne Salter (Amy), Kristi Sawyer, Paula Davis (Thomas), Fred Johnson, Jr. (Tracy) and Matthew Johnson (Alison); his sister Palmer Stowe; and his stepchildren, Randy Bell (Angie), Ronnie Keith Bell and Robin Fulford (Dean). He is also survived by 12 Great-Grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Grantsboro Church of God, 1565 NC Hwy 306 N, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
