He was predeceased by: his father McVernon Prescott, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Frances Harris Prescott; his children, Penny Prescott Miller (Horace) of Washington, NC, Joanna Prescott Holton of New Bern and John Prescott of New Bern; and his brother Jerry Prescott (Pat Lee Prescott).

Flowers will be appreciated by the family or donations can be made to Mid Atlantic Christian University, 715 North Poindexter Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
