We are sad to announce that on December 12, 2021, at the age of 88, Harriette Alfred Matthews of Grantsboro, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her siblings, Marie Gaskins of Ayden, NC and Frederick R. Alfred; her nieces and nephews, Susan Gorton, Deborah Leggett, Betty Mackinson, Marta Whichard, Gray Gaskins and Fred Alfred; her parents, Halstead B. Alfred and Josephine Baily Alfred; her sister June Bryan Alfred Knaup; her adoptive father Tim Mathews; and also Kelley Mathews.
