He is survived by: his spouse Betty Harmon Gardner; his children, Teresa Lynn Wilkerson (Brian) of Salisbury, Kim Dawn Cline (William) of Rockwell, Roger Wayne Heilig of Salisbury, Tony Eugene Lanning (Jessica) of Salisbury, Scottie Wayne Lanning (Sue) of Mocksville, Johnny Lanning (Christy) of Salisbury and Jody Dale Lanning (Katie) of Asheville; and his brothers, David Gardner (Linda) of Greensboro, Terry Gardner (Wendy) of Salisbury and Kenneth Gardner of Conway, SC. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
