He was predeceased by: his father Jessie Porter. He is survived by: his wife Rachel Porter; his children, Melissa Utley (Robert), Heather Penley (Todd) and Derek Porter; and his grandchildren, Jessica Kepley (Paden), Hannah Morrow (Bradon), Nicholas Utley, Travis Penley and Daniel Porter. He is also survived by friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers , the family request donations be made to Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144 or to the Save the Clefts Rescue, PO Box 932, Mooresville, NC 28115 in honor of his childhood dog, Jacquline.
