It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Zelma Hice of Granite Falls, North Carolina, who passed away on October 12, 2020, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland Smith and Lillie Turner Smith; her husband O. M. Hice; and her sister Arlie Smith. She is survived by: her daughter Linda Abernathy (Jerry) of Connelly Springs; her grandchildren, Kalynn Linden (Steve) of Hickory, Mark Abernathy (Kellie) of Garner, NC and Scott Abernathy (Betty) of Hickory; her great grandchildren, Brianna Linden, Ashley Abernathy, Nick Linden and Aaron Abernathy; and her brother Carroll Smith (Margie) of Granite Falls.
The family requests masks be worn and strict social distancing to be observed.
