He was predeceased by: his parents, Jones Henry Helton and Dillie Smith Helton; and his siblings, Eugene Helton, Jake Helton, Cecil Helton, Soretha Helton and Hazel Triplett.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lingerfelt Helton; and his children, Dannie Helton (Rita) of Icard, Dwight Helton (Donna) of Granite Falls, Dwayne Helton (Pam) of Connelly Springs and Sandra Townsend of Lenoir.
