He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Johnson and Effie Knight Johnson; his wife Mary Kaylor Johnson; and his sister Weyburn Starnes. He is survived by: his daughters, Rita Huffman (Brent) of Claremont and Marla Patton (Rob) of Conover; his grandsons, Jason Wade Eckard (Mary Ann), Spencer Chase Eckard (Shawnna) of Abilene, TX and R. J. Patton of Conover; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn Ann Eckard, Corbin Dean Eckard of Lancaster, PA and Kenna Wylder Eckard.
