She was predeceased by: her parents, Linnie Patterson and Matilda Jones Witherspoon; and her brothers, Samuel D. Harold E and Leonard B. Witherspoon. She is survived by: her sisters, Dorothy M. Woods and Loretta A. Corpening; her daughter Kimberly Witherspoon Eltija (Jeffrey Battle Sr.) of Lenoir; her sisters, Betty Harris of Cleveland Ohio, Annette Echard (Alfred) and Helen W. Banner of Lenoir; and her grandsons, Michael Witherspoon (Victoria) of Greensboro, N. C, Christopher, Tyler Witherspoon Daryan Dula of Lenoir, Jeffrey Battle Jr. (Michelle), Elijah Battle of Charlotte, N. C and Jaleah Battle of Lenoir. She is also survived by nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.
