She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Charles and Aretes Prichard Buchanan; her husband Rev. Ken Lance; and her sister Yvonne McKinney. She is survived by: her grandson Noah Hicks (Abby Crowe); her stepdaughters, Tammy Crowe (Mark) of Newland and Jennifer McCurry of Newland; and her brother Charles Richard Buchanan (Brenda) of Plumtree. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Sandy's wishes were that memorial donations be made to: Powdermill Baptist Church, 268 Powdermill Creek Road, Newland, NC 28657.
