He was predeceased by: his mother Martha Mathis Brown Bolick; his stepfather Frank L. Bolick; and his brothers, Daniel Eugene Brown, James Allen Brown and Luther Gill Bolick.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Shomaker Brown; his daughter Leslie Jarman (Alexander); and his brother Raeford Timothy Brown (Sandra). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
