He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Webster Smith and Lois Annas Smith. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Donna Powell (Jonathan) and Charmion Frizsell (Todd); his grandchildren, Miranda Love (Tyler), Emma Frizsell, Elijah Frizsell, Alyta Frizsell, Donovyn Frizsell and Ella Frizsell; his great grandchild Tatum Love; and his siblings, Brenda Weeks (Jerry) and Greg Smith (Kriss).

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Amorem Hospice, 525 Pine Mountain Rd., Hudson, NC 28638.
