He is survived by: his wife Sheila Simpson Messenger; his daughters, Christie Johnson (Derick) and Amanda Messenger; his grandchildren, Kaley Johnson and Clayton Haas; his siblings, George Messinger (Joyce), Cecil Messinger, Jr., Eldon Messinger (Pam) and Patty Messinger; his cousin Tim Messenger (Debbie); and also Cheryl Thompson.
