He was predeceased by: his parents, Rayford Duncan and Iva Yount Duncan. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Shumate Duncan; his siblings, Tara Diamond of Delmar, CA, Randy Duncan of Granite Falls, NC and Ronald Duncan (Melissa) of Hickory; his son Richard Duncan, Jr. (Crystal) of Hickory; and his stepson Michael Johnson (Rachel) of Butler, TN. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alexander County Hospice.
