He was predeceased by: his parent Cecil T. Settlemyre; and his siblings, Fred Settlemyre, Clarence Settlemyre and Gladys Caldwell. He is survived by: his parent Lular Baughman Settlemyre; his wife Ruth Kirby Settlemyre; his son Ralph L. Settlemyre Jr.; his wife Cathy of Hudson; his children, Patsy Hilton Gilbert of Granite Falls, Reggie Settlemyre of Newton, NC and Angie Reid (Jerry) of Granite Falls; and his siblings, Mary Darty of Hickory and Garner Settlemyre of Hickory. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
