He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Spann and Anna Kiziah Spann. He is survived by: his wife Shirlene Deal Spann; and his children, Carol Burns (Grant) of Newton, Harold Spann, Kenneth Spann of Valdese and Keith Spann (Robin) of Glen Alpine. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
